Every year many volunteers help make the Beyond the Pale Special Events the success that they are. Without the hard work and dedication of the volunteer team this event would not happen. Our Volunteer Handbook is your guide to life as a volunteer!

About

Brewing beers for locals in the heart of Ottawa since 2012. Our spacious Taproom and patio are perfect for enjoying one of 16 beautifully crafted beers poured on tap. Due to its location and space, we have become a hub for special events, be it art shows, music festivals, or just a giant party. The fun doesn’t stop there as we also host events around the city, from tap takeovers to beer festivals. A lot is going on and we need your help to make them amazing!

Welcome to the Volunteer Team for BTP Special Events! It is volunteers like you that help make it a fun and successful event.

Volunteer Information

In the lead-up to an event, our event coordinator will reach out to you to discuss options and availability. If you are interested in the event, they will contact you with full details and options/roles available.

Code of Conduct

Beyond the Pale Brewing Company strives to create a safe and fair atmosphere for all, and requires volunteers to adhere to the following Code of Conduct.

Beyond the Pale Brewing Company will enforce a zero-tolerance policy concerning the behaviours listed below. 

• Excessive use of cellphones/electronics for personal use, while on duty. We understand things may arise in your personal life, but please do not use your phone/electronics when duties are to be done
• Consumption or possession of alcohol, intoxication, possession or use of drugs or illegal substances
• Theft
• Destruction of property
• Harassment
• Failure to meet agreed-upon objectives (not showing up for shifts, inability to complete duties)
• Inappropriate requests towards artists/entertainers, vendors, and exhibitors
• Insubordination or disrespect
• Breach of confidentiality: relaying or misusing confidential information that can possibly result in any detriment to any participant of the event.
