Business name:   Beyond the Pale Brewing Company

Date completed:   Jun. 3, 2020

Revision date:  March 1, 2022

To our Valued Guests:

We are excited to invite you to visit our taproom and patio – needless to say, these are different times; we look forward to welcoming you back when you are ready.

We at Beyond the Pale understand the importance of you feeling safe. Your safety and the safety of our employees are our number one priority. This starts with knowing the enhanced precautions, controls and protocols we are implementing in our establishment.

We are following Provincial & Ottawa Public Health Orders along with all other regulations regarding Covid-19.

Measures we’re taking

How we’re ensuring workers know how to keep themselves safe from exposure to COVID-19

  • Screening every staff member for Covid-19 symptoms before they start their shift (including checking their temperature with a contactless thermometer)
  • Enhanced hand washing and hand sanitizing protocols
  • No table service to minimize points of contact
  • Staff meetings are regularly held during which safety protocols and the importance of ensuring everyone’s safety are discussed

How we’re controlling the risk of transmission in our workplace

Physical distancing and separation

  • Separate entrance and exit doors
  • Removed common contact items from our tables
  • We have takeout/pickup windows accessible from outdoors for canned beer and food pickup including takeout orders, online orders and all third party delivery
  • Reorganized areas where lines can form or congestion can occur. We also have an order at table option through a QR code available throughout our brewery

Cleaning/Sanitizing

  • Washrooms are checked and cleaned every 30 minutes
  • Enhanced sanitizing and disinfecting routines throughout our space with a focus on all high touch points
  • Hand sanitizing stations are available for our guests

Other

  • Masks are mandatory for all staff and guests when inside unless sitting down and eating or drinking. Masks are available if needed
  • Menus are not handed out unless upon request. They are cleaned after every use. Our entire menu is also available on our website
  • Cutlery is pre-rolled and handed out when you get your food
  • We are encouraging Tap to Pay whenever possible. We have popsicle sticks available if a guest needs to touch the payment terminals. Cash is accepted but not encouraged.

What we will do if there is a potential case, or suspected exposure to, COVID-19 at our workplace

  • Guests will be refused entry if they are displaying Covid-19 symptoms
  • Staff showing symptoms will be sent home immediately and we will follow all recommendations made by OPH

How we’re making sure our plan is working

  • We discuss and then action plan any and all opportunities at our weekly manager meeting

The health and safety of our employees and guests are our number one priority. We hope to see you soon.
